Looking for a good high school football game to watch in Week 5, but don’t want to travel far.

We have the top games in the Fort Worth area right here:

Fort Worth Southwest (2-1) vs. Fort Worth Wyatt (3-0)

7 p.m. Friday, Clark Stadium

The Wyatt Chaparrals are 3-0 for the first time since 2017 after hanging on to beat Dunbar in their last game in Week 3. The Southwest Raiders weren’t as fortunate as they dropped their first game of the season in a one-point loss against Joshua.

The numbers are nearly identical with Wyatt outscoring teams 77-58 compared to Southwest’s 82-63.

Last year’s meeting was a defensive showdown with Wyatt edging out for a 14-10 win.

It will be close again, but give me Wyatt 21-15.

North Crowley (4-0) vs. Euless Trinity (0-4)

7:30 p.m. Friday, Pennington Field

Can Trinity finally pick up its first win of the season or will North Crowley continue to have its best start in 17 years. North Crowley went to 4-0 after a big shutout against Paschal while Trinity fell to Boswell 45-26.

Expect both sides to run the ball well, highlighted by North Crowley’s Cornelius Warren and Trinity’s Gary Maddox, who had 214 yards total against Boswell.

It will come down to defense and the edge goes to North Crowley, sparked by 4-star Texas committed linebacker S’Maje Burrell, No. 12 in the Star-Telegram Top 100.

North Crowley keeps its streak going, give me the Panthers 28-21.

Mansfield (4-0) vs. Mansfield Lake Ridge (1-3)

7 p.m. Friday, Newsom Stadium

It’s a Mansfield showdown at Newsom for the second straight week as the Tigers play the Eagles in District 11-6A. The Tigers, 4-0 for the first time since 2011, got 206 yards rushing and four touchdowns from James Johnson in a 37-16 win over Legacy. Lake Ridge dropped a game on the road at Duncanville.

Look for Johnson to continue his offensive surge while the defense is led by 4-star Arkansas commit Kaleb James and 4-star Texas Tech commit Brenden Jordan.

Can the Eagles keep up with the Tigers, not quite. Give me Mansfield 35-24.

Alvarado (3-1) at Decatur (1-3)

7 p.m. Friday

The Eagles got their first win in the Steve Huff era with a 42-13 decision over Pampa in Week 4. Decatur has managed to score some points this season with over 30 a game, but the defense will need to play another good game against the resurgent Indians.

Alvarado is 3-1, already more wins than last year (2-8).

The Indians are led by running back Jayden Bridgewater (528 yards rushing, 8 TD).

Decatur won by 13 last season, but Alvarado comes back to win Friday, 35-32.

Keller Fossil Ridge (2-2) vs. Haslet Eaton (1-3)

7 p.m. Friday, Northwest ISD Stadium

The Panthers and Eagles look to rebound from Week 4 losses. Ridge lost to Byron Nelson 55-15 while Eaton was edged out by Keller.

Ridge QB Logan Cundiff and Eaton QB Noah Lugo are among the area’s passing leaders.

Three-star BYU committed running back Landen Chambers (Ridge) and 4-star Stanford committed tight end Jaden Platt (Eaton) are the biggest names on the field.

This one will be a nail biter, give me Ridge 33-28.
