DFW basketball winners for Week 16 from Coppell, Covenant, McKinney, Lake Dallas
Coppell’s Adam Moussa, the Colleyville Covenant Cougars, McKinney’s Taylor Jackson and the Lake Dallas Lady Falcons were voted the latest DFW high school boys and girls basketball players and teams of the week.
Moussa was voted boys player of the week after scoring 35 against Hebron. He received 2,461 votes (49%). Gavin Green from Flower Mound had 38%.
Covenant, boys team of the week, clinched a spot in the TAPPS 4A state semifinals. It picked up 649 votes (52%). Grapevine Faith, also state bound, had 42%
Jackson was voted girls player of the week after leading McKinney to the quarterfinals for the first time in 9 years. She scored 30 against Tyler Lee.
Lake Dallas, girls team of the week, beat Legacy to go to the quarters for the first time in 12 years. The Lady Falcons beat Boswell on Tuesday to clinch a berth into the regional tournament.
