Matt Wells, Texas Tech pick up commitment from 270-pound lineman from DFW

Lake Ridge 2020 offensive tackle Caleb Rogers committed to Texas Tech on Sunday, he announced on Twitter.

Rogers, who stands 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, chose the Red Raiders over Arkansas State, Louisiana Monroe, New Mexico and William & Mary. He made his unofficial visit and was offered by Tech in March.

Rogers is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports.

The Eagles went 9-3 last season and were co-district champs from 7-6A. They were predicted to finish fifth after moving up classes and became only the second team since 2009 in DFW to move up to the largest classification and make it three rounds deep, according to the team’s Twitter page.
