Starting up in 1994, Keller is a 4-time UIL state champion with back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017.

The Indians made their presence felt in their second season under the direction of Phyllis Scott. In 1995, Keller went 30-10, finished second in district and reached the state tournament, losing to Waco Midway. With Scott, the Indians went to state again in 1996 and 1997, finishing in the state semifinal and state final.

Scott would coach three more seasons and finish with a record of 172-79 in seven seasons, still the all-time winningest coach in program history.

George Caddell took over and coached for two seasons, compiling 24-10 and 21-9-1 records with playoff appearances both times.

Moe Fritz came aboard and changed the dynamic, leading Keller to its first two state titles during the 2003 and 2005 seasons. Keller went 35-5 and beat Bryan, 6-1, in 2003 to win the 5A title. The Indians went 35-2 and beat Garland in 2005. That same season, they were NFCA/USA Today National Champions.

Keller lost to Garland in the 2006 final and Fritz coached two more years, compiling a 170-41-3 record in six seasons.

Lindsay Wilhelmson-Strong was next in line and went 144-27-3 in five seasons. Keller won district four times and went to the playoffs every year, going 15-9. Wilhelmson-Strong holds the best winning percentage (.823) for any Keller coach (3 years and more).

Keller returned to state and took home 6A titles with Bryan Poehler in 2016 and 2017. Poehler went 119-29-1 in four seasons with trips to the regional final three times. The Indians beat Pearland and Austin Bowie to win state.

With Poehler, Keller went 36-9 during the postseason.

Christina Gwyn-Barton, who was on Keller’s 2003 state team, took over last season and guided the Indians to a 31-3-1 record and trip to the 6A Region I final, where they lost 2-1 to Plano.

In its program history, the Indians are 700-201-10 (.768 winning percentage).
