Here are the boys and girls basketball players of the week

Birdville senior guard Tre Hester and Mansfield Legacy junior guard Harmoni Turner have been named DfwVarsity boys and girls basketball players of the week from December 3-8. 2018.

Hester, a preseason all-area nominee, started the week with a triple double, 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds during a 72-60 win over Eaton. The Hawks finished the weekend off with the championship in the Van Griffith Kia tourney in Granbury.

Hester recorded 29 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds in the title game. He was named tourney MVP.

Legacy only played one game last week, but Turner made the most of it.

In a 76-68 victory over Mansfield Summit, Turner registered 39 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

Turner is also a preseason all-area nominee.
