Football players at Scurry-Rosser pay touching tribute for the school’s cheer captain

Scurry-Rosser’s cheer captain Hayden Whisman told Fox 4 News that her mom was her biggest supporter.

So when her mother died from a stroke a few weeks ago, a small gesture from the football team was what she needed.

In a video obtained by Fox 4 News, each player on the football team lays a yellow rose at Whisman’s feet while coming out onto the field during a recent game.

Scurry has just over 300 students and is roughly 70 miles east of Fort Worth.

Scurry-Rosser is in Class 3A Division II and hosts Blooming Grove, 7:30 p.m. Friday.
