WEEK 6 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Quarterback: Jack Dawson, Arlington Lamar
Dawson threw for 249 yards on 10 of 15 passing and 5 TDs against FW Trimble Tech. Dawson connected with three different receivers for scores of 54, 15, 38, 52 and 38 yards. The Vikings are one of 30 area UIL and TAPPS teams still undefeated this season.
Running back: Quintan Jackson, Benbrook

Jackson rushed for a career-high 445 yards against Lake Worth. He scored 5 TDs and averaged a career-best 24.7 yards per carry. Benbrook is 5-1 and plays Dunbar on Friday. Jackson has rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 25 TDs.
Receiver: Kam Brown, Colleyville Heritage
The 4-star Texas A&M commit caught 7 passes for 176 yards and 3 TDs against Carrollton Creekview. He now has 6 TDs this season and 36 in his career. The Panthers are 3-2 and play Denton Ryan on Friday.
Defense: Shamar Morton, Euless Trinity
Morton recorded 10 tackles in the Trojans’ 70-28 win over San Angelo Central. He also picked off two passes and returned one for a touchdown. Trinity is 5-0 and plays Haltom on Friday at Pennington Field.
Special teams: Willie Roberts, Arlington Martin
Roberts returned two kicks back against North Crowley as the Warriors picked up their first win of the season. He returned his first from 90 yards in the second quarter to make it 26-14. He added a 92-yarder in the fourth to put Martin up 12.
WEEK 7 GAME OF THE WEEK
Boswell at Azle, 7 p.m. Friday
The Battle of the Lake or Take the Lake rivalry was voted Week 7 game of the week by the fans, beating out a matchup between 5-0 Cleburne and 5-1 Burleson Centennial.
Boswell has won three in a row after dropping its first two games.
Azle has won its past five games. The Hornets are 4-0 in district play.
