Week 4 football players of the week

Quarterback: Jordan Davis, Mansfield Timberview

What he did: The Wolves crushed Dallas Wilson 54-7 to start 1-0 in district play and 2-2 overall.

Davis only completed six passes but five of them were for TDs. He threw for 226 yards and also beat Wilson the ground with 7 carries, 49 yards and 2 TDs. Davis has accounted for 1,036 yards and 14 TDs with one interception through four games.

Running back: Dominique Johnson, Crowley

What he did: Johnson was a workhorse for the Eagles in their 42-28 win over Brewer.

Johnson scored on runs of 7, 12 and his 32-yarder in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach as the Eagles improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in District 3-5A Division I.

Wide receiver: Trey Cleveland, Arlington

What he did: The Texas Tech commit couldn’t be stopped in Arlington’s 44-34 win over Horn as the Colts start the season 3-0.

Cleveland caught TD passes of 68 and 18 yards and finished with 7 catches and 150 yards.

Defense: Kyron White, Arlington

What he did: The San Diego State commit finished off Horn with 10 tackles and one interception.
