Quarterback: Malcolm Mays, Arlington Bowie
What he did: Mays threw for an Arlington school district record 473 yards with 4 TDs against Rockwall. He broke the previous record held by Lamar’s Shane Buechele and the school record held by Tony James.
Mays connected with three different receivers for TD passes of 81, 80, 46 and 6 yards.
Running back: Anthony Watkins, FW South Hills
What he did: The Missouri commit broke the Fort Worth school district record for rushing yards in a single game and TD runs in a single game when he went for 509 and nine scores vs. Saginaw.
Watkins’ mark was the 14th best all time in state history.
Wide receiver: Jahrad Taylor, Brewer
What he did: Taylor caught 16 passes for 212 yards and 2 TDs of 62 and 19 yards against FW Arlington Heights. The Bears trailed by as much as 13 points before coming back to win 31-27.
Taylor and QB Carson Ingram hooked up for the game-winner with 1:01 left.
Defense: William Jones, Mansfield Summit
What he did: The TCU commit filled the stat sheet with 2 INTs, 2 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles, 2 tackles and returned a kickoff for a 99-yard touchdown against Mesquite Poteet.
