Defensive Player of the Week: Timber Creek DE Evan Johnson

Timber Creek 2019 defensive end Evan Johnson was voted Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in Week 1 vs. Rockwall-Heath.

Johnson received 47 percent of the votes on Twitter. Euless Trinity safety Sebastian Taaualo came in second (24 percent).

The 6-foot-1 D-end recorded 2 sacks, 9 tackles, 3 for loss and 2 forced fumbles as the Falcons beat Heath 47-10 in the season opener on Aug. 30.

Johnson broke through for a sack and a forced fumble on the Hawks 30 yard-line that gave Timber Creek a chance to add to a 14-10 lead with four minutes to play in the third.

The Falcons broke open a close game with 33 unanswered points in a 47-10 win.
