Arlington High and TCU great Lauren Otto Rao is the new volleyball head coach at Keller.

She replaces Jamie Siegel, who was hired at Flower Mound in March.

Otto Rao takes over a program that won back-to-back district titles. The Indians went to the regional quarterfinals in 2017 and the regional tournament in 2016.

Otto Rao spent the past two years at South Grand Prairie. The Warriors went 52-23 and 31-1 in district play. In both seasons, they won in the first round before Byron Nelson eliminated them in area.

During her prep career, Otto Rao was a four-year letterman at Arlington, where she was a two-time all-state selection and voted district hitter of the year.

She went on to have a successful career at TCU. When she graduated, Otto Rao was sixth all-time in kills and digs, and fourth all-time in double-doubles.

Otto Rao also had coaching stints at Burleson Centennial, Arlington Seguin and Arlington Bowie. She was also an assistant coach at TCU from 2013-15.

Keller was reclassified with Timber Creek, Fossil Ridge, Central, Byron Nelson, Eaton, Southlake Carroll and Denton Guyer. The Indians will be a district favorite with players returning like Jayden Nembhard, Sydney Gholson, Emmie Riethman, Anna Simpson and Hawaii volleyball commit Kate Lang, who was named to the Star-Telegram all area team in 2017.

Keller assistant coach Tony Clark was named the new head coach at Brewer. He replaces legendary player and coach Christina Rudiger.
