TCU football lands multiple commitments during big recruiting weekend
TCU football continued its summer surge on the recruiting trail with multiple commitments on Saturday during another busy official visit week.
The first commitment came from cornerback Jewellz Tapp, from Louisiana. Tapp is currently unranked by 247Sports, but he held offers from Houston and Kansas State among others.
Tapp starred at New Orleans-area powerhouse John Curtis last season and finished his junior season with 24 tackles, five interceptions, nine pass breakups and a defensive touchdown. Tapp is listed at 6-foot, 170 pounds.
The second commitment came from edge rusher Hunter Black. Black is 6-5 defensive end from Bryan, Texas where he stars at Brazos Christian School. Black had 25 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and 28 quarterback pressures last season.
Black held offers from Baylor, Tulane and North Texas among others before picking TCU on Saturday.
The Horned Frogs now have nine commitments and have earned five of them in June. TCU’s class currently ranks No. 71 in the country.
