TCU football lands commitment from offensive lineman from Houston
TCU football landed another commitment on Wednesday morning.
Three-star offensive lineman Ty Greene picked the Horned Frogs over the likes of Houston, Tulane and Baylor. Greene is rated the No. 84 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 134 prospect in Texas by the 247Sports composite rankings.
Greene’s said TCU’s track of development played a major role in his decision.
“I feel like it would be a place I could potentially go to the league but also have a good degree to fall back on,” Greene said.
A two-way standout at Houston Stratford, Greene also played on the defensive line and had 34 tackles, five stops for loss and a sack.
Greene was among the handful of top recruiting targets on campus last weekend for official visits and became the second prospect to commit. Crowley offensive tackle Alexander Herrera committed to the Horned Frogs on Friday.
Greene said the visit and his relationship with offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis and offensive line coach A.J. Ricker was the final piece he needed.
“My official visit was awesome, it played a big role in my decision,” Greene said. “I love Coach Sammis and Coach Ricker.”
TCU’s recruiting class now has five recruits, and more are expected in what should be a busy month for the Horned Frogs.
