TCU men’s basketball loses another player to the transfer portal

TCU men’s basketball center Malick Diallo is entering the transfer portal.

His agent, Ryan Murphy, informed multiple outlets of Diallo’s decision on social media. Diallo also confirmed the reports on his Instagram.

The sophomore center started the first game, but played just seven minutes this season before tearing his ACL in the opener against New Orleans. TCU lost that game 78-74.

Diallo appeared in 29 games as a freshman, averaging 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds while playing 10.9 minutes per game. His departure continues the exodus from the Horned Frogs.

Diallo is the seventh player to enter the transfer portal, joining leading scorer David Punch, Liutaurus Lelevicius, RJ Jones, Ashton Simmons, Kayden Edwards and Jace Posey.

The Horned Frogs have been able to retain three starters with Xavier Edmonds, Brock Harding and Micah Robins announcing their plans to return. Junior guard Tanner Toolson is the final rotation player who has a decision to make.

TCU is also adding No. 1-ranked junior college player Trent Lincoln at guard, 7-foot JUCO center Ryan Hunt and Serbian forward Milos Sojic.
