Another key starter has announced his plans to return to TCU men’s basketball next season.
Sophomore forward Micah Robinson announced on X that he will stay in Fort Worth for his junior season.
Robinson had a breakout season in 2025-26, averaging 10.9 points and 4.7 rebounds while being one of TCU’s best perimeter defenders. Robinson started 13 games this season, and his insertion into the starting five against Iowa State on Feb. 10 helped change the direction of TCU’s season.
The Horned Frogs were 10-3 in games Robinson started, including going 9-3 in the final 12 games of the season to go from the wrong side of the bubble to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Robinson scored a team-high 18 points in TCU’s first-round win over Ohio State and a team-high 18 against Duke in the second round.
It’s a massive win to keep Robinson in the program, as he’s the fourth-highest ranked recruit to sign with the Horned Frogs since 2001.
The former four-star recruit joins point guard Brock Harding and All-Big 12 forward Xavier Edmonds as starters who have announced their plans to return next season. The next domino to watch is sophomore forward David Punch, who was honorable mention All-Big 12, along with key reserves Tanner Toolson and Liutaurus Lelevicius.
Earlier on Monday TCU lost a third player to the transfer portal with freshman Kayden Edwards announcing his intentions to play elsewhere. Guards RJ Jones and Jace Posey will also transfer from TCU.
The Horned Frogs finished the season 23-12 with a program-high 11 wins in the Big 12. If Punch returns, TCU could be a preseason Top 25 team.
