Where did TCU women’s basketball land in preseason AP rankings?
TCU women’s basketball is ranked No. 17 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25 poll.
It’s the highest preseason ranking in program history after the Horned Frogs won the Big 12 regular-season and conference tournament championships last season. Led by Hailey Van Lith, TCU reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in the best basketball season ever for the program.
After losing Van Lith, Sedona Prince and Madison Conner, the Horned Frogs reloaded in the transfer portal with a class led by All-American Olivia Miles. TCU also returns Donovyn Hunter and Taylor Bigby.
TCU was picked to win the Big 12 in the conference’s preseason coaches poll for the first time, and Miles was selected as the preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
The Horned Frogs open the season against North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. Nov. 6 at Schollmaier Arena.
UConn No. 1 in AP preseason poll
Defending national champion UConn is No. 1 in the AP preseason poll, followed by South Carolina, UCLA, Texas and LSU.
Despite TCU being picked to win the Big 12, Iowa State (No. 14) and Baylor (No. 16) rank ahead of the Horned Frogs in the preseason poll. Oklahoma State was also ranked (No. 22).
