TCU football favored against Baylor, but early bettors backing Bears

TCU football is favored to bounce back with a victory against Baylor on Saturday, but early bettors are backing the Bears.

The Horned Frogs are down to consensus 3-point home favorites after opening at -4 on Sunday at Circa Sports in Las Vegas. The line has dipped all the way to -2.5 at FanDuel.

TCU is a -150 favorite at Circa on the money line, a bet on who will win the game regardless of the point spread. Those odds imply the Horned Frogs have a 60% chance of winning.

On Kalshi, the prediction market that has become a legal way for Texans to bet on sports, TCU has a 56% chance of winning the game.

TCU (4-2, 1-2 Big 12) is coming off a 41-28 loss at Kansas State in which the Wildcats scored two defensive touchdowns off Horned Frogs turnovers.

Baylor (4-2, 2-1) had a bye last week after kicking a 53-yard field goal with 31 seconds left to rally past Kansas State 35-34 on Oct. 4 in Waco.

The Bears defeated TCU 37-34 last season in Waco on a 33-yard field goal on the final play to snap the Horned Frogs’ four-game winning streak in the series.

TCU, Baylor quarterbacks create high total

The game will be a matchup of the two leading passers in the country. Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson has thrown for 2,058 yards this season, and TCU’s Josh Hoover is right behind at 1,893.

The teams’ prolific offenses mean the game is projected to be a high-scoring affair. The total, or over/under — the combined points scored by both teams — is set at 66 at Circa, though that is down sharply after opening at 70.5.

Even at 66, the TCU-Baylor total is the third-highest in college football this week, trailing only Florida Atlantic-South Florida (72.5) and UTSA-North Texas (68.5).

The game will kick off at 11 a.m. Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
