TCU

Just how big a favorite is TCU football against Abilene Christian?

The TCU football team destroyed North Carolina by 34 points in its season opener.

The Horned Frogs will have to do better than that to satisfy bettors this week.

TCU is a massive 37.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook over FCS opponent Abilene Christian in the Horned Frogs’ home opener at 7 p.m. Saturday. The total — the combined points scored by the two teams — is 56.5.

The Horned Frogs are so heavily favored that there is no money line — a bet on who will win the game regardless of the point spread — available at FanDuel.

At Kalshi, a prediction market that operates legally in Texas, TCU is a -5000 favorite, meaning bettors have to wager $5,000 on TCU to earn $100 in profit. Abilene Christian is a +1085 underdog, meaning a $100 wager on the Wildcats to score the upset would return $1,085 in profit.

That equates to TCU having a 97% chance of winning.

Despite the massive point spread, the Horned Frogs are not the biggest favorites in college football this week. The following teams have higher point spreads:

— Penn State -48.5 vs. Villanova

— Baylor -47.5 vs. Samford

— Indiana -47.5 vs. Indiana State

— Texas -40.5 vs. UTEP

TCU is 1-0 against the spread this season after covering easily as a 3.5-point favorite in a 48-14 win at North Carolina. That game went over the total of 55.5.
