Former Aledo, TCU quarterback named starter at another Big 12 school

Former Aledo standout and TCU transfer Hauss Hejny was named the starting quarterback for Oklahoma State ahead of its season opener Thursday against UT Martin, according to reports.

Hejny played in four games for TCU last season after being a three-star recruit in high school. He then entered the transfer portal and chose the Cowboys.

Hejny led Aledo to the Class 5A Division I state championship in 2023 and was the Star-Telegram’s Offensive Player of the Year.

Last season with TCU, Hejny attempted no passes but ran for 65 yards on 15 carries.

He’ll have an uphill climb leading an Oklahoma State team coming off a rough 2024 season in which the Cowboys went 3-9 and were winless in the Big 12.

Oklahoma State is massive 20.5-point favorite against UT Martin. The game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Stillwater and will air on ESPN+.
