TCU football adds Cal transfer safety Ryan Yaites
After landing Missouri State transfer Michael Teason, the Horned Frogs stayed hot on the recruiting trail with another transfer portal commitment from Cal safety Ryan Yaites on Monday.
Yaites was a former four-star recruit out of Denton Guyer in the 2023 recruiting class and signed with LSU. He recorded 16 tackles as a freshman before transferring to Cal last season.
At Cal Yaites played for current TCU safeties coach Tre Watson and he appeared in 12 games last season with 16 tackles, one pass breakup and quarterback hurry.
Yaites brings depth to a safety room that just lost Kollin Collier to the transfer portal last weekend. Yaites will have two years of eligibility remaining.
