Social media jokes about Hailey Van Lith looking miserable prior to draft
The Chicago Sky chose Hailey Van Lith with the No. 11 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, reuniting her with her former LSU teammate Angel Reese.
The draft selection wrapped up a momentous year for Van Lith, who made history at TCU, winning Big 12 Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and a finalist for Naismith College Player of the Year.
Yahoo Sports put out a TikTok of some of the top WNBA Draft prospects before the draft, and fans online joked about Van Lith looking unhappy at the outing.
At the draft, Van Lith jokingly addressed the video while talking with Elle Duncan and Chiney Ogwumike.
“I don’t even remember doing that, so that’s a red flag, but I don’t know, I have no idea,” said Van Lith.
Fans waiting to see Van Lith suit up for the Sky won’t have to wait long, with her first preseason action game at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
