TCU women’s basketball lands first transfer recruit after its historic season
It didn’t take long for Mark Campbell to land his first portal addition for the 2025-26 season.
Less than 24 hours after TCU was eliminated by Texas in the Elite Eight, the Horned Frogs landed Kentucky transfer center Clara Silva.
A Portugal native, Silva, a 6-foot-7 center, saw action in all 31 contests for the Wildcats in 2024-25. She posted per-game averages of 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 12.5 minutes per game on 56.5% shooting as a freshman.
Silva was a big international pickup for the Wildcats and would’ve been considered a top-10 high school prospect according to On3.
Silva fills a huge need for TCU as the Horned Frogs will have to replace first team All-Big 12 big Sedona Prince and reserve center Deasia Merrill.
Size could be a strength for TCU as Silva is the third 6-7 player to commit to TCU for 2025, joining incoming freshmen Emily Hunter and Sarah Portlock.
TCU, in November, also signed 6-4 guard Clara Bielefeld from Germany.
