Fourth TCU men’s basketball player enters transfer portal
TCU starting center Ernest Udeh has entered the transfer portal according to multiple reports.
Udeh is the fourth TCU men’s basketball player to enter the portal joining Isaiah Manning, Frankie Collins and Vasean Allette.
A former McDonald’s All-American, Udeh transferred to TCU from Kansas before the 2023 season. Udeh averaged 4.3 points and 5.8 rebounds his first season as a starter.
Udeh’s numbers improved slightly this past season as he averaged a career-high 6.6 points and 7.5 rebounds along with 1.3 blocks and 1.4 steals per game.
Udeh was a quality rim protector and glue guy, but had a limited offensive game outside of catching lobs. Sources say name, image and likeness played a role as Udeh and TCU were trying to re-negotiate Udeh’s earnings, but a deal ultimately couldn’t be reached.
The Horned Frogs are thin in the front court, but have two promising bigs in rising sophomores Malick Diallo and David Punch. Forward Micah Robinson also announced he would be returning to TCU and all signs indicate Jace Posey is leaning to returning as well.
TCU also announced the signing of Iowa transfer guard Brock Harding over the weekend.
