TCU is headed to Omaha for the College World Series.

The Horned Frogs punched their ticket to the CWS with a 6-4 win over Indiana State on Saturday, completing a two-game sweep of the visiting Sycamores and extending their winning streak to 11.

When is the CWS?

The College World Series includes eight teams which will play in two four-team double-elimination brackets. Play begins on Friday, June 16.

The winners of each bracket advance to the finals which is a best-of three championship series, June 24-26.

Where is it played?

The CWS is played at Charles Schwab Field, a 24,000-seat stadium. It’s also the home park of the Creighton baseball program.

Who will they play?

The Horned Frogs will face Oral Roberts in their first game in Omaha on Friday at 1 p.m. CT. Those two teams were playing in a Super Regional this weekend. Oral Roberts beat Oregon to advance, rallying in the ninth inning on Saturday to force a third game on Sunday.

The other teams in their four-team bracket include Florida and Virigina.

How the Frogs got there

The Frogs are 9-0 in the postseason after sweeping the Big 12 tournament, capping it off with a 12-5 win over Oklahoma State, the second-seeded team in the tournament. TCU was the fourth-seeded team.

They played their way into the Fayetteville Regional, which they swept, as well. They opened the round with a 21-4 win over Arizona, then beat No. 3 Arkansas 20-5.

They faced Arkansas again in the regional championship, winning 12-4.

The Frogs were set to travel to Indiana State, where the Sycamores would host the regional.

However, Indiana State had prior commitments to the local Special Olympics group, so TCU took on the hosting duties.

It was a surprise to most, even to the Horned Frogs.

And the grounds crew team, which had to get the field game ready after the surprise announcement.

TCU finished the job with a sweep of the Sycamores..

In those two games, the TCU fans took advantage of the home field advantage at Lupton Stadium. TCU set back-to-back attendance records on consecutive nights — 8,812 on Friday and 8,994 on Saturday.

World Series history

This is the sixth time the Horned Frogs have advanced to the CWS, the first time since 2017. The Horned Frogs have also advanced in 2010, ‘14, ‘15 and ‘16. Their highest finish is a third-place finish.
