The Raegan Pebley coaching era at TCU will continue at least one more day.

Pebley‘s Horned Frogs posted their biggest win of the season, upsetting Kansas 58=52 in the opening round of the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City on Thursday at Municipal Auditorium.

Pebley announced in February that she was stepping down from the Horned Frogs at the end of the season.

The Horned Frogs had won just one Big 12 game all season posting — a 1-17 record — and had not won a game away from Fort Worth.

Yet, the Horned Frogs found a way as they improved to 8-22 overall. Kansas dropped to 19-11.

TCU will face second-seeded Oklahoma at 5 p.m. on Friday at 5 p.m.

Senior guard Tomi Taiwo led the Horned Frogs with 13 points while Lucy Ibeh added 10. Four other players scored eight or nine points.

Chandler Prater led the Jayhawks with 21 points.

The victory was impressive considering Kansas beat TCU 84-61 five days earlier in Fort Worth.

The two teams were tied 15-15 after the first quarter. Kansas led 32-28 at halftime.

However, a big third quarter pushed TCU ahead. The Horned Frogs outscored Kansas 19-11 in the quarter.

TCU made 33.9 percent of their shots, including 8 of 20 three-point goals. Kansas made just 20 of 68 shots, including 4 of 19 three-point goals.
