TCU basketball had three players take home All-Big 12 honors on Sunday.

Sophomore guard Mike Miles headlined the trio by being named to the conference’s second team as voted on by the league’s coaches. Junior guard Damion Baugh and junior forward Emanuel Miller were honorable mention selections.

Miles is leading the Frogs with 15.1 points per game and is second on the team averaging 4.0 assists. He’s the only player in the league to rank in the top six in both categories.

Miles is just the fourth player in program history to earn second-team or better honors by the Big 12 coaches, joining Desmond Bane, Vladimir Brodziansky and Kenrich Williams. Miles was named to the Big 12’s All-Freshman team and an honorable mention for the All-Big 12 team as a true freshman last season.

Baugh and Miller earned recognition as transfers into the league.

Baugh, who joined TCU from Memphis, is averaging 10.6 points per game and a team-leading 4.2 assists. Miller, a Texas A&M transfer, is averaging 10.5 points and a team-leading 6.2 rebounds per game.

The individual honors are a result of TCU having a better-than-expected regular season. The Frogs were voted to finish eighth in the league, but will be the 5-seed in the Big 12 tournament and are projected to play in March Madness for the first time since 2018.

TCU (19-11, 8-10) will face 4-seed Texas in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 tournament on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 11:30 a.m. at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Top honors

The Big 12’s top honors went to Kansas’ Ochai Agbaji, a unanimous pick for the league’s player of the year, and Baylor’s Scott Drew, who won his third consecutive coach of the year.

Other top individuals included a three-way tie for defensive player of the year (Baylor’s Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, Oklahoma State’s Moussa Cisse and West Virginia’s Gabe Osabuohien); Iowa State’s Izaiah Brockington was named the newcomer of the year; Iowa State’s Tyrese Hunter was the freshman of the year; Kansas State’s Nijel Pack was the most improved player; and Baylor’s Jeremy Sochan was the sixth man winner.

The Big 12’s first team included Agbaji, Brockington, Pack, Texas Tech’s Bryson Williams and Baylor’s James Akinjo.
