Winning home games is a must in the Big 12, TCU basketball coach Jamie Dixon said last week.

“That has to be the mentality,” he said. “And there’s no excuse to lose a home game.”

Well, TCU promptly lost another home game a couple days after Dixon made that comment. The Frogs had a poor showing in a 75-63 loss to Kansas State on Saturday with leading scorer Mike Miles (wrist) sidelined.

TCU is now 1-3 at home in Big 12 play, but it’ll look to get back on track Tuesday against Oklahoma State. This is a borderline must-win for the Frogs as they approach the midway point in league play and attempt to bolster their March Madness resume.

Miles’ status is expected to be a game-time decision. He went through a limited practice on Monday and will make the call himself whether he can go.

With that being said, here’s everything else you need to know going into the game:

The Details

When/where: 6 p.m. Tuesday at Schollmaier Arena, Fort Worth

TV/radio: ESPNU (Rich Hollenberg, Fran Faschilla); KLIF (570 AM) with Brian Estridge and John Denton

About TCU: TCU guard Damion Baugh was named the Big 12’s newcomer of the week on Monday. Baugh averaged 18.5 points per game for the Frogs last week. … TCU is shooting just 29.4% from 3-point range, the worst in the Big 12. The Frogs were 6 of 28 from deep in the loss to K-State, something that drew the ire of Dixon. … TCU lost the first meeting with Oklahoma State in Stillwater last month. The Frogs blew a nine-point lead with 3:16 left. … TCU has won the last four meetings against Oklahoma State in Fort Worth, including an 81-78 victory last season.

About Oklahoma State: The Cowboys lead the all-time series 28-11. … Oklahoma State snapped a four-game losing streak by knocking off rival Oklahoma on Saturday. … The NCAA ruled the Cowboys are ineligible for postseason play this season after OSU lost an appeal of a case tied to the FBI bribery investigation into college basketball during 2017-18. … Isaac Likekele of Mansfield Timberview and Avery Anderson III of Justin Northwest are leading the Cowboys in minutes played. Likekele is averaging 32.3 minutes per game, while Anderson is at 27.3.

Projected lineups

TCU: Mike Miles, Damion Baugh, Chuck O’Bannon Jr., Emanuel Miller, Eddie Lampkin Jr.

Oklahoma State: Avery Anderson III, Isaac Likekele, Rondel Walker, Bryce Thompson, Moussa Cisse

Prediction

With Miles’ status in question, it’s hard to predict how this game will unfold. If Miles plays, the Frogs’ chances improve dramatically of course. The Cowboys are a tough team to read, too, as they may not be fully bought-in given their postseason ban. In the end, this feels like a regular-season split with TCU getting back to its winning ways at Schollmaier Arena. TCU 67, Oklahoma State 63.
