TCU football loses assistant coach Uzo-Diribe to Georgia, source confirms
TCU football is in the market for a defensive line coach.
Chidera Uzo-Diribe, who followed Sonny Dykes from SMU to TCU, is leaving for a job on Georgia’s staff, a source confirmed to the Star-Telegram on Thursday.
Uzo-Diribe is expected to become Georgia’s outside linebackers coach, according to reports. Georgia, the reigning national champion, had an opening with Dan Lanning becoming Oregon’s head coach.
It’s unclear who Dykes and TCU might target as his replacement. The Frogs are switching to a 3-3-5 defensive scheme under coordinator Joe Gillespie.
Uzo-Diribe had a short stint with the Frogs but helped them land players during the early signing period and on National Signing Day on Wednesday.
Uzo-Diribe joined Dykes’ staff at SMU in 2021 after spending two seasons as the outside linebackers coach at Kansas. Uzo-Diribe played college football at Colorado, which is also where he started his college coaching career.
TCU is in the midst of offseason workouts with spring practices set to start on March 22.

Brown is the chief operating officer and general manager of the American Airlines Center in Dallas. He succeeds Bry Patton as the CBAA chairman.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be selected,” Brown said in a news release. “I step into this role with a deep understanding and appreciation for what the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic stands for and what it means to so many in North Texas and across the college football landscape.”
