TCU injury report: RB Zach Evans is not playing today at K-State
TCU football will be without sophomore running back Zach Evans today.
Evans did not take part in the Horned Frogs’ pregame warmups and was seen wearing a boot on his left foot just before kickoff. Evans made the trip to K-State, but is battling turf toe, a source said. Sophomore running back Kendre Miller is expected to start.
Evans played in last week’s loss to West Virginia, rushing for 62 yards on 18 carries. He missed the Oklahoma game with a turf toe injury.
Evans injured his toe during TCU’s victory at Texas Tech on Oct. 9.
Evans is leading the team with 648 yards and five touchdowns in six games this season. Miller has 411 yards rushing and six TDs.
TCU is averaging 216.3 yards rushing per game.
In other injury news, safeties Bud Clark and Deshawn McCuin remain sidelined but the cornerback depth has improved. Noah Daniels was running with the first-team defense during pregame warmups, and Kee’yon Stewart is expected to be available today. Stewart has been sidelined all season with an injury.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
