TCU injury report vs. West Virginia: RB Zach Evans to return
TCU running back Zach Evans is returning to the lineup tonight against West Virginia.
TCU’s leading rusher missed last week’s game at Oklahoma, but will return tonight. Cornerback Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is also expected to play after returning to practice Thursday.
Tomlinson missed the second half of the OU game with an undisclosed injury.
Evans is the most notable returner. He’s rushed for a team-leading 586 yards and five touchdowns.
Also expected to play are offensive lineman Wes Harris and linebacker Wyatt Harris. Wes Harris hasn’t played the last three games, while Wyatt Harris missed last week’s game. Wes Harris is in the starting lineup at right guard, while Wyatt Harris is backing up Jamoi Hodge at linebacker.
In other injury news, the Frogs will have a safety making his first start with Nook Bradford sidelined. Senior safety Michael Onyemaobi ran with the first-team defense. So did freshman Da’Veawn Armstead during pregame warmups but T.J. Carter was in the starting lineup at game time.
Among the players who have been battling injuries much of the first half but are expected to be available include offensive guard John Lanz, defensive tackle Corey Bethley and cornerback Noah Daniels.
On the wide receiver front, JD Spielman remains sidelined but Mikel Barkley is expected to be available.
TCU and West Virginia are scheduled to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
