TCU football vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders: Kickoff time, TV, line, radio, prediction
Going on the road hasn’t been a bad thing for TCU football over the years. Instead, road environments have brought out the best of the Horned Frogs more often than not.
TCU is 44-20 on the road since 2009. The 44 road wins are the fifth-most in the country. The Frogs are looking to get No. 45 when they travel for the first time this season to face Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday.
TCU coach Gary Patterson believes part of his team’s road successes over the years is simply being in a number of different leagues with games spread out across the country.
“We had to travel so far in all of the other leagues we had to play in, you had to learn how to bring our own energy,” Patterson said. “When you have big crowds, you play at a high level. I think one of the things that happens to us when we play on the road is they have big crowds and we get a lot of energy from them even though they’re not cheering for us. They are bringing energy to the stadium.”
TCU (2-2, 0-1 Big 12) is looking to end a two-game losing skid. Texas Tech (4-1, 1-1 Big 12), meanwhile, is hoping to win its second straight after upsetting West Virginia on the road last weekend.

PREDICTION
Many of the storylines coming out of TCU’s loss to Texas centered on the running backs. Bijan Robinson had a career day and finished with 20 more carries than TCU’s Zach Evans. Expect Evans to become even more involved in TCU’s game plan on offense and Patterson to make some adjustments in the secondary to help the defense. TCU 34, Texas Tech 27.
