TCU product and Eagles WR Jalen Reagor to undergo thumb surgery. Target date to return?

Jalen Reagor’s NFL career has sustained a setback.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie wide receiver out of TCU will miss several weeks with a thumb injury. A source said Reagor is expected to undergo surgery in the coming days to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb.

Reagor is expected to be placed on injured reserve. That means he’ll miss a minimum of three games. The source said Reagor is expected to return following Philadelphia’s bye week, which would mean his next game would be Week 10 when the Eagles travel to the Giants on Nov. 15.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had a similar injury last season and missed five games.

Reagor injured his thumb during the Eagles’ loss to the Rams on Sunday. Reagor finished with four catches for 41 yards against the Rams. In his NFL debut against the Washington Football Team on Sept. 13, Reagor had one catch for 55 yards.

Reagor started both games for the Eagles and has also been used as the team’s punt returner.

Reagor, 21, joined the Eagles as the 21st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
