TCU football picks up second 2021 O-line commit in as many days
TCU coach Gary Patterson took to social media Friday afternoon to inform everyone “recruiting is heating up.” He wasn’t wrong.
TCU landed a commitment from Mansfield Summit offensive tackle Jacoby Jackson on Friday, and then got another O-lineman in the mix on Saturday morning. Rose Hill (Kansas) offensive lineman Noah Bolticoff announced his intention to join the Horned Frogs on Twitter.
“Today is the day,” he wrote. “I’m officially ending the recruiting process. I want to thank all the coaches and programs. I have made my decision. I am beyond blessed to Officially Announcing my Committment to Texas Christian University.”
Bolticoff, who is 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, is regarded as a three-star prospect by Rivals. He originally committed to Kansas State before changing course once TCU became interested in late April.
“When I watch his tape, I see a finisher,” said Billy Wessels, publisher of TCU’s Rivals site PurpleMenace.com. “Bolticoff is a guy that doesn’t stop throughout a play. When the play is over, his man is on the ground. He’s got great footwork and is agile enough to handle a complex blocking scheme.”
TCU had an inside track to Bolticoff. One of his high school coaches is former Frogs lineman and Rose Hill native Blaize Foltz, who started every game at right guard his final two seasons at TCU in 2011-12.
Bolticoff is ranked as the No. 36 offensive guard prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He is the sixth player to commit to the Frogs for 2021, joining Jackson, quarterbacks Alexander Honig and Trent Battle, wide receiver Chase Jackson and defensive end Chris Murray.
TCU’s 2021 class is currently ranked 78th in the country and 10th in the Big 12, per 247Sports.
