TCU’s Jalen Reagor among top prospects participating in NFL’s remote draft coverage
TCU’s Jalen Reagor is among the prospects who will be participating in the NFL Draft virtually later this month.
Reagor received an invitation to take part in some sort of digital form as he watches the draft with close family and friends at his grandma’s home in Waxahachie.
The NFL Draft remains scheduled to take place and be televised April 23-25, but public events in Las Vegas have been canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The NFL is incorporating top prospects such as Reagor to be part of the coverage remotely. More than 50 players are expected to be present via video and social media.
TCU defensive tackle Ross Blacklock and cornerback Jeff Gladney are other highly-touted players who could participate virtually.
Players are expected to receive a “draft package” in the coming days.
“Our plan is to connect you with NFL fans watching the Draft live from around the world, directly from your home!” NFL executive VP of football operations Troy Vincent wrote in a letter to invited prospects such as Reagor.
Reagor is viewed as a possible first-round talent as a game-changing wide receiver.
Reagor closed his college career with 2,248 yards receiving, 22 TDs and 148 receptions, highlighted by a 1,000-yard season as a sophomore in 2018. Reagor also rushed for 324 yards and two TDs in his career.
His 22 career receiving TD receptions are tied for second-most in TCU history, trailing only Josh Doctson (29).
Reagor led the team with 611 yards receiving and five touchdowns on 43 receptions last season. While it was a disappointing season numbers-wise, he was a standout returner, being named to three All-America teams after ranking second nationally with a 20.8 punt return average.
