TCU’s Nembhard (groin) out today vs. No. 2 Baylor

TCU sophomore guard RJ Nembhard won’t play today against No. 2 Baylor.

Nembhard is dealing with a groin injury, which sidelined him at Iowa State on Tuesday night.

Nembhard is a significant loss for the Horned Frogs. He is the team’s second-leading scorer with 12.2 points and emerged as the top point guard option in recent weeks.

TCU is also without its second best point guard option in freshman Francisco Farabello (concussion).

Senior Edric Dennis is expected to handle the starting point guard duties. The top backup option is sophomore walk-on Owen Aschieris.

TCU (15-13, 6-9 Big 12) is looking to split the season series with Baylor (25-2, 14-1). Baylor knocked off TCU 68-52 on Feb. 1 in Waco.

The Frogs are also looking to defeat three ranked teams for the first time in program history. They defeated then-No. 18 Texas Tech last month, and then-No. 17 West Virginia last week.

Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Schollmaier Arena. The game is being televised on ESPN.
