TCU’s RJ Nembhard sustains injury during warmups at Iowa State
TCU’s point guard depth is getting tested tonight at Iowa State.
Sophomore guard RJ Nembhard injured his groin during pregame warmups at Hilton Coliseum, and was a game-time scratch.
TCU was already without its top point guard option off the bench. Freshman Francisco Farabello didn’t make the trip after sustaining a concussion in Saturday’s game against West Virginia.
Nembhard, a Keller High product, has become the team’s primary point guard the past three games. He is also the team’s second leading scorer, averaging 12.2 points in 32.6 minutes.
Farabello, meanwhile, is averaging 4.1 points in 21.2 minutes.
With Nembhard and Farabello sidelined, TCU senior Edric Dennis started the game at point guard. Walk-on Owen Aschieris was the top option off the bench.
