TCU freshman guard Francisco Farabello sustained a concussion in the first half against West Virginia on Saturday afternoon.

Farabello injured himself going after a loose ball, grabbing his head after he hit the floor just in front of TCU’s radio row with 2:44 left in the first half. Farabello was tended to for several minutes before being helped off the court.

TCU coach Jamie Dixon said afterward that he believed Farabello received an unintentional knee to the head, and is optimistic for a speedy recovery.

“He’s moving around and walking around,” Dixon said. “He looks better now than he looked when he was on the floor, let’s put it that way.”

Farabello had three points in six minutes of action in the first half. He entered the game averaging 4.2 points in 21.8 minutes game for the season.

Farabello, the son of former Argentinian National Team player Daniel, joined TCU out of the NBA Global Academy in Australia.

TCU defeated No. 17 West Virginia 67-60 in overtime.
