TCU adds a big-time wide receiver on National Signing Day

TCU football made another splash at wide receiver for the 2020 recruiting class.

Marshall wide receiver Savion Williams announced his intentions to play for the Horned Frogs on Wednesday to kick off National Signing Day.

Williams, who is listed at 6-foot-4 1/2, 205 pounds, is a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports. Before choosing TCU, Williams strongly considered Arkansas and SMU.

Williams initially committed to Arkansas, but re-opened his recruitment after Chad Morris was fired.

TCU wide receivers coach Malcolm Kelly was the primary recruiter for Williams.

Williams mostly played quarterback for Marshall in 2019, throwing for 1,053 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 541 yards and nine touchdowns.

In limited reps at receiver, Williams caught 12 passes for 121 yards and one TD.

On early signing day in December, TCU made headlines by flipping Temple wide receiver Quentin Johnston from Texas to TCU.

TCU has the No. 28-ranked class in the country, and No. 3 in the Big 12, per 247Sports.
