TCU is in the hunt for this former NBA player’s son

TCU is in the mix for Kenyon Martin, Jr., the son of longtime NBA player and the 2000 No. 1 overall pick Kenyon Martin.

Martin Jr., called “KJ,” named TCU among his four finalists. The power forward out of California is also considering West Virginia, UCLA and Vanderbilt.

Martin Jr. is rated as a three-star prospect, according to 247 Sports, and is listed at 6-foot-6, 195 pounds. As a senior last season, he averaged 16.4 points and nine rebounds as Sierra Canyon won its second straight state title.

Martin Sr. is best known as being the top overall pick by the New Jersey Nets in 2000. He played at Dallas Bryan Adams and then Cincinnati under Bob Huggins (who is now at West Virginia). Martin was an All-Star in 2004.
