TCU basketball coach Jamie Dixon finalizes coaching staff

TCU men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon has finalized his coaching staff.

Dixon is expected to hire Tony Benford, sources confirmed a report by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Benford was the head coach at North Texas from 2012-17, and most recently served as an assistant at LSU. He was the interim coach late in the season when LSU placed coach Will Wade on leave after surfacing in the FBI college basketball corruption case.

He went 62-95 in five seasons at North Texas.

Benford finalizes Dixon staff with Ryan Miller returning as the top assistant for the fourth straight season, along with former UCLA assistant Duane Broussard joining it.

Dixon saw two assistants depart from last year’s staff.

Former UT-Arlington coach Scott Cross took the head job at Troy, and Corey Barker was fired after being linked to the FBI case.

Barker was never considered as an option to re-join the staff after he refused to cooperate with an internal investigation.
