TCU baseball blanked Abilene Christian 4-0 Tuesday night at Crutcher Scott Field in Abilene.

Left-hander Russell Smith held ACU scoreless on five hits over 4 2/3 innings. Caleb Sloan took over and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Augie Mihlbauer and Cal Coughlin each tossed scoreless innings.

Only two ACU base runners reached third base. It's the second shutout by TCU pitching this season.

The Horned Frogs (23-18) scored twice in the third and added runs in the fourth and sixth. Josh Watson, A.J. Balta, Conner Shepherd and Coby Boulware each had RBIs.

TCU hosts Dallas Baptist at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and then Lamar this weekend at Lupton Stadium. Beer will be available for the first time during games at Lupton Stadium beginning Wednesday.
