SGP safety Vongor joins TCU as top-rated defender
South Grand Prairie safety Atonza Vongor joins the Horned Frogs as their top defensive signee.
He was one of the most dynamic secondary players in North Texas as a junior and senior for the Warriors, earning a four-star grade from 247Sports.com.
At TCU, he is prepared to play any of the three safety positions in coach Gary Patterson’s defense.

The recruiting web site 247Sports rated Vongor as the 16th-best safety prospect and 22nd among all Texas athletes. He was one of five four-star players on the TCU commitment list and the second South Grand Prairie player on the TCU roster, joining receiver Jaelan Austin.
