Jamie Vinson stays in the Lone Star State after transferring from Texas

According to On3.com’s Pete Nako, Jamie Vinson is transferring from the Texas Longhorns to their instate rival, Texas A&M.

Vinson averaged 2.2 points per game and 1.1 rebounds on 75% shooting in limited minutes during his lone season in Austin.

The Aggies head into their first season under head coach Bucky McMillan after Buzz Williams left for Maryland after coaching the program for six seasons.

When Williams left, he took Solomon Washington, George Turkson Jr., Andre Mills, and Pharrel Payne with him to College Park.

Texas A&M has been busy under Williams, signing seven transfers, including Vinson, to compensate for the departures.

Last season, the Aggies went 23-11 (11-7) in the regular season before losing to Michigan in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
