Top transfer chooses Texas Longhorns after wining national championship at Ohio State

Ohio State defensive lineman Hero Kanu transferred to the University of Texas on Wednesday.

Kanu was born overseas in Germany but played his high school football at Santa Margarita Catholic where 247 Sports ranked him as the No. 105 player in the 2022 recruiting class.

In two seasons at Ohio State, Kanu had 14 tackles and one sack and notched a tackle in the Buckeyes playoff victories over Oregon and Texas.

Kanu took visits with Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M. He will join a Texas team looking to win its first national championship game since 2006 after making the College Football Playoff semifinals for the second year in a row.
