The Dallas Mavericks started the 2026 NBA Draft by taking Morez Johnson Jr. with the No. 9 overall pick and used the final pick of the draft’s first night selecting Koa Peat with pick No. 30.
However, according to reports from ESPN’s Shams Charania the Mavs traded Peat and two second-round picks to the New York Knicks for 25th overall selection Sergio De Larrea.
De Larrea averaged 9.7 points with 3.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game for Valencia in Spain.
The Spanish native will provide three-point shooting. He shot 41% on 3.3 attempts per game last season and provides secondary play-making ability with more than 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
