How you can go to the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics — in Oklahoma

Texans who don’t want the stress and cost of traveling to California for the 2028 Summer Olympics can take a weekend trip to Oklahoma instead.

That’s right. The Los Angeles Olympics will hold two events in Oklahoma City: softball and canoe slalom.

The exception in venue is because Oklahoma City holds the largest softball complex in the world, Devon Park. Before the Olympics, Devon Park will also host the annual Women’s College World Series. And the McClendon Whitewater Center, which holds Olympic team trail events, is just 10 minutes away.

However, with the majority of events and athletes in California, the 2028 Summer Olympics will kick off the opening ceremony on July 14 in downtown Los Angeles. But the events held in Oklahoma are only about a three-hour drive from Fort Worth.

Registration for presale tickets are already live. Here’s how to attend the 2028 Olympics in Oklahoma City.
