Women’s College World Series: Who are the Fort Worth locals on Texas Tech’s softball team?
The season for the Texas Tech softball is one of many firsts.
And they’re not done yet.
After achieving the highest winning percentage in program history and reaching the Women’s College World Series for the first time, the Red Raiders walked off the defending champs Oklahoma to secure a spot in the finals against Texas.
Texas Tech has a host of in-state talent on their roster, but who is native to Fort Worth?
- True freshman lefthander Brenlee Gonzales has a 2.84 ERA and a record of 2-0 in 12 appearances. In 12 innings, the 2024 Aledo High School grad has struck out 12 and allowed five earned runs this season.
- Flower Mound High School alum Logan Halleman has batted .360 with 18 hits, including a double and a triple so far in 57 games this season.
- Senior Alexa Langeliers has batted .317 so far this season. In 61 games, the Keller High School alum has 52 hits, including six doubles and eight home runs while driving in 40.
- Bailey Lindemuth has been a presence at both the plate and on the mound for Texas Tech. The Burleson Centennial alum has hit .316 so far this season as a true freshman. In 65 games, Lindemuth has 50 hits, including eight doubles and five home runs while driving in 31. On the mound the right-hander holds a 2.55 ERA and a 2-1 record in 11 innings pitched. She has allowed six hits and four earned runs while striking out six.
The best-of-three series will begin Wednesday night at 7 p.m at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. The games will be broadcast on ESPN.
