Tickets for the 2026 World Cup are not quite on sale yet. FIFA said they will update and release more information on where fans can buy tickets in due time.

We will update this story as soon as we know more.

Who has qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup?

Per FIFA rules, the host country automatically qualifies for the World Cup, meaning the U.S., Mexico and Canada, are all in.

As for the remainder of the 45 teams, that will be determined through a series of playoff stages leading up to the tournament in 2026.

How many teams play in the FIFA World Cup?

FIFA is expanding the field of competitors at the 2026 World Cup to 48, 16 more than the number of sides that will play in Qatar this fall.

Since 1998, only 32 teams were able to compete in the global soccer tournament. When FIFA held the first tournament in 1930, only 13 teams were eligible to play.

In 1934, FIFA expanded the tournament to 16 teams. It wasn’t until 1982 that FIFA expanded the tournament to include 24 teams.
