Dallas-Fort Worth will see the chance of rain return Sunday afternoon ahead of a cold front expected to bring temperatures down into the upper 50s for the start of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Saturday saw warm and breezy weather with increased fire dangers west of Interstate 35 while areas east of I-35 were expected to see possibilities of rain.

Sunday is expected to have a 30% chance of rain and a temperatures around 63 in the morning. With temperatures topping out at 80 in the late afternoon, scattered thunderstorms are expected to increase in probability into the evening.

A few storms may be strong to marginally severe. The main threat will be strong winds with storms along the cold front, but hail cannot be ruled out both along and behind the cold front.

The chance of rain will probably be gone by midnight, but clouds will hang around until Tuesday. Highs are expected to rise from 57 on Monday and Tuesday to 63 on Wednesday and 71 on Thursday.
