More thunderstorms could bring hail to Tarrant County on Sunday night

Severe thunderstorms could return to Tarrant County with more hail and heavy rain this evening.

The National Weather Service predicts a 20% to 40% chance of more thunderstorms in the area today after morning storms brought hail. The largest hail was reported in Westover Hills, where it reached golf ball size. Other hail reports across the county put the icy precipitation at quarter-to ping pong ball-sized.

The National Weather Service said there were no reports of damage from the hail this morning, but with that size there are likely some damaged roofs and dinged cars.

If a cold front north of Dallas-Fort Worth moves south, the likeliness of storms increases, the service said.
